A Birthday + Labor Day Week Recap

Phew, it feels like it’s been forever since I’ve been on this little space of mine. As I mentioned earlier, we were at Priest Lake all last week, with no electronics (which was wonderful!) but it sure made me feel disconnected when I got back! We’re just settling back into routine, and putting things away from our trip, and so I finally have some time to blog a little while Abe is napping!

First, let me give you a brief rundown about my birthday! The big 2-5! When did I get so old? πŸ˜‰ I joked to Kyle that I like saying I’m 25, it makes me feel more mature and like people won’t judge me when I tell them I’m married and have a baby πŸ™‚ It was mostly a joke…. But there is some truth behind it! Anyway, back to my day. My best friend up here, Kelsey, took me to lunch. We are super awesome and went to Dairy Queen. Kels has 2 kids (3 and 5) and I have Abe, so we needed somewhere low-key, and DQ fit the bill. Once Kyle came home from work, we picked up sandwiches from Caruso’s (SO GOOD) and went on a picnic down on Lake Coeur d’Alene. It was so gorgeous (although a bit windy) and I loved spending time with my boys. We feel so blessed to live in such a pretty area!
Super awesome family selfie πŸ™‚
Love this little guy.

I have to say, I received some great gifts. I got a few new shirts (one I’m wearing above! – couldn’t find on the Gap’s website, though), a new pair of jeans (Silvers discounted to $30? yes, please!), a few new make-up things, The Fault in Our Stars, and a lovely new pair of rainboots.
We ended the night by helping our friends move into their new house.
It sure was a great day.

And now, our week at the lake! It was so wonderful to have my in-laws (Evan and Holly) make the drive up from Utah to spend time with us! They arrived on Sunday, and we drove up to Priest Lake on Monday//Labor Day, and stayed through Friday. It was a bit cool and stormy a few of the days, but we got in some biking, kayaking, dutch-oven-ing, reading, gaming, fire-ing and just plain family time-ing πŸ™‚
Abe was pretty mesmerized by the fire.

Gorgeous sunset on the lake.
A little bit windy, but still enjoying the beach.
All snuggled up.

Kyle and I are loving our kayaks!
Oh yes, and Abe tried rice cereal for the first time on our trip.

He wasn’t so sure about it.

Again, we feel so blessed to live in such a beautiful area! We have really loved our time up here and I’m not sure if we will ever leave πŸ™‚
What fun things did you do to celebrate Labor Day?
