Abe in his special blessing outfit at 3 months — made by amazing Lauren. (Etsy shop here.) |
It’s been a while since this wonderful occasion, but I am glad I am finally posting about it. On July 2, 2014, Kyle was able to take Abe into his arms and give him a name and a blessing. (Read more about what that means HERE. You will have to scroll down a tiny bit.) Kyle’s dad, 3 brothers, and my Uncle Gordon were able to participate.
Abe was blessed:
with a healthy body
to be quick to observe
to seek spiritual gifts such as truth and wisdom
to choose wisely
to be a good example
to follow the example of his mom
to be an influence to help others come to the Savior
to serve a mission
to lead a life of service
to study the Book of Mormon
to be fearless and brave in defending the Gospel
to follow the Spirit
to learn his heritage — his namesakes
to live up to the standards
to always know we love him
and to ask questions.

Our immediate families were there, of course (although for some reason we didn’t take a picture with Dad and Steven), and we had a few other friends and family members that came as well. My Uncle Gordon and Aunt Celeste, my best friend Dani and her husband Denny, my great friend Kaitlin and her husband Nathan. We are so glad that we have such great friends and family.
