First off — I never linked up the correct link to my post over at Messes to Memories — so here it is! Check it out, and then stick around and say hey to Carisa, she’s great! And now — onto a book review for this wonderful piece of literature.

Mabel is a scholarship student, rooming with the beautiful and rich Ev. While at first they don’t get along or even acknowledge each other, one fragile evening renders them friends, and Ev invites Mabel to join her and her family at their summer estate. And so begins a summer of secrets and lies, and Mabel finds out that money may not be the key to happiness… Or maybe it is, if you’re willing to pay the price.
Bittersweet was a beautifully written book. It is part mystery, part family secrets, and part romance. It reminded me a bit of The Secret History (which I also really enjoyed) so if you liked that, I would give this one a try as well. As with most books, there may have been a few flaws here or there, but overall, I enjoyed it immensely and give it a 4 out of 5 star review.
