The Best Dress

When eShakti contacted me a while ago to review one of their products I practically peed my pants and jumped up and down for joy. And that is no joke. After reading a lot of other blog reviews about eShakti, I knew I wanted to try it out! After looking through the dress options, I came across this dress, fell in love, and we lived happily ever after.

Dress: eShakti // Cardigan: Old Navy (bought from Lauren!) // Scarf: Smith’s Marketplace //
Tights: Payless // Flats: Tory Burch (won from a giveaway by Simply Clarke)

But really.

The great thing about eShakti, as you’ve probably heard, is that you can customize any of their dresses to fit your style preferences, and you can include your own measurements for a custom fit. (for only $7.50!) How amazing is that? Plus, the majority of their dresses have pockets (or you can add them, or you can take them out, if you want) and who doesn’t love pockets???
So, for instance, I chose to customize my dress to short sleeves, as I knew I would want to wear it one its own (and I don’t wear sleeveless tops or dresses) as well as with a cardigan over it. I almost got a elbow length sleeve (because I love them!) but figured it wouldn’t be conducive to the cardigan wearing. And I specified the length to be below-knee, and it was perfect. (PS, it’s a v-neck — thought I’d tell you since you can’t see it under the scarf.)

Adding your style preferences is so easy, and when you add your measurements they really help you out by telling and showing you exactly where and how to measure. Again — you can specify sleeve and skirt length, and in some styles you can also specify a neckline!

My order shipped out quickly, even though it was custom, and arrived in a timely manner, even though it was coming all the way from India. In fact, I received my package before I had even received an email with tracking information! As soon as I received it I put it on and it fit like a glove! Well, almost. The bust was a little too small — but that’s my own fault since I didn’t allow for bra wearing when I measured! But it still fits fine, just the little snap that keeps the two sides together pops open sometimes, oops!
The material is a thick cotton/poplin and when I received it I was worried about wrinkling. However, it’s nothing a quick once-over with the iron can’t fix. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised that after the first time I washed it (and let it hang dry) it came out looking great and I hardly had to spend any time at all ironing it.
I honestly cannot say enough good things about this company. I want all the dresses and skirts! And by now you probably do too. And I can help you with that! From now until January 16, 2014, you can use the code mysunshinesblog” to get 10%  off your order. You’re welcome and Merry Christmas 😉
