pura d'or shampoo and conditioner review

Hair. Love it or hate it, we all have it. Everyone’s is different. And there is no “one-size-fits-all” for hair care (I wish). My hair? Well, it’s thick and course and prone to frizz. It’s mostly wavy, but not the cute kind. It holds curl pretty well, which unfortunately means it holds kinks pretty well, too. It grows fast, and I swear the texture of my hair changes at different lengths. OH, and I have chronic dandruff (TMI? too late). So that’s really great, too.

I used to hate my hair.

I used to want hair like the “popular” girls — sleek and straight. No curl on the bottom, just straight across, straight hair all the way down. My hair does not do this. At all. No matter how much I tried, I just could not achieve that look. There was always some type of curl and there was always frizz. Ugh! What’s a girl to do?

Learn to love her hair of course! And try out a myriad of hair products and styles in the mean time. And as you can you can see from the pictures below, I’ve had a myriad lengths of hair.

So, like I mentioned, I’ve tried a bunch of different hair products! I feel like I am always searching for “the one”. I recently started using Pura D’or shampoo and conditioner and I am loving them. After I had Abe, my hair started falling out. I don’t know if y’all have heard of postpartum hair loss before, but it’s a beast. The Pura D’or shampoo is marketed as preventing hair loss and adding volume and while I haven’t been using the product long enough to see a true difference, my hair feels SO GOOD. Bonus: I love the smell of the conditioner — it smells like (a good smelling) sunscreen to me, ha, but I love it. I have also been using Pura D’or‘s Organic Argan Oil and it also makes my hair feel amaze-balls. So smooth, and less frizz! I’ve heard great things about argan oil and so far it’s lived up to the hype! (There are other uses for argan oil, too, so I’ll have to try them out!) I have my eye on their dandruff shampoo, too, since I have such terrible dandruff, always.

Through out the last few years, I’ve really learned to embrace and love my hair. I’ve stopped trying to make it do things it just can’t do. Instead of trying to make my hair stick straight I will usually curl the ends a bit so I have some control, while letting my hair do it’s thing. And while I still don’t always love the way my hair looks and have those “what the freak is my hair doing” days, at least I’ve learned to live with them 🙂 And using the right hair products really does matter. The Pura D’or shampoo and conditioner (+argan oil) work for me, so I recommend them! If you try them, drop me an email or comment and let me know what you think!

Have you ever hated your hair? How did you “get over it”? Do you have any hair product recommendations for me?
