I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas holiday! We sure did! We were able to spend 10 days down in Utah with our families, and had a great time, even if we all ended up sick. (That’s just what happens when you get 10 adults and 10 kids together for an extended period of time, especially in the winter.) Kyle has 3 older brothers, and while 2 of them live in Utah, Blaine and his family live in California, so we don’t see them as often, and so we were thrilled when they decided to come up for Christmas!
Anyhow, we drove down on Thursday (Christmas Eve) after Kyle worked a half-day, and got there around 4 pm. We had a fun family-filled night playing games, reading the Christmas story, eating a wonderful Christmas dinner, having our cousin Christmas gift exchange, etc. We love being with our family, and it’s so fun to watch all the cousins play together. We had a great time.
The rest of the holiday we spent with family, playing in the snow, chatting, opening presents, visiting Kyle’s grandma down in Price, Utah, watching movies, and relaxing. Kyle and I were able to sneak away for two dates (one to see Star Wars on Christmas Night with Blaine and Brooke and one to eat at Chick-Fil-A and to see The Martian) which was amazing – and both movies were amazing, too – and we also took Abe out for a little one-on-one time to get ice cream at Costco. We also blessed our sweet Eliza on Sunday, which I’ll write more about at a later time.
A bunch of my friends from high school also got together the Monday night after Christmas and it was so fun to see everyone and meet spouses we haven’t met, as well as kids, and catch up on everyone’s lives. Once I get our group picture from Missy, I’ll update this blog with it, but until then, just know we had a great time. Kyle even enjoyed it a little bit, ha.
We were spoiled on gifts this year, too. My big present was a Chromebook (hoorah!) and Kyle’s was a new suit. We’re also enjoying new straighteners and curling wands, slippers, pants, books, and Abe is especially enjoying his play shopping cart.
I hope you all had a fabulous holiday! And now it’s back to real life and routine, which I’m actually quite excited about. I have big goals and dreams for this year, but…. That’s another blog post.
