Dear Abe,

Tomorrow you turn two, and I can hardly believe it. This past year has been a pretty crazy one for your little self. A few weeks before you turned 1 your Daddy and I found out that we were expecting another little baby – a little sibling just for you! So your second year has been full of changes as my belly got bigger and bigger and I wasn’t able to lift you up or play with you as much as I wanted. We also moved you from the only home you had known, to a brand new home, far away from the only friends you had known, too. You did fantastic at that transition, we were so proud of you! We brought your sister home almost 5 months ago, and you’ve taken on the role of big brother extremely well. When you hug and kiss your sister my heart just melts. And of course, one more transition that you went through was that of sleeping in a crib to a toddler bed. Again, you handled that change like a champ, leaving us wondering if there’s anything you won’t be able to adjust quickly to.

You are a joy to be around. Everyone that meets you just falls in love with you. You have the happiest, cheeriest disposition, and are so loving. You are constantly learning new words and noises, and often surprise us with the things you know.

You will always be my baby. You will always be my first. My love for you knows no bounds, and I will always be here for you. The more you grow, the more I love you. The heart’s capacity for love is amazing, and I find my heart doubling, tripling, quadrupling in size daily.

I love you, Abe. I am so proud of you. And as always, I will always be your biggest fan.
