There’s a lot of hurt in our country right now.
A rapist only gets 6 months jail time.
A young up-and-coming singer is killed.
50 people are gunned down and killed (and more injured) while having a good time with their friends.
And I am sure there are many other events happening around the country that are just as sad, that have left more people hurting, that we don’t know about. Not to mention the craziness that is this year’s presidential election.
I don’t have the answers.
All I have is this Bible verse, that has been circling around in my head:
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. ” John 16:33 KJV
In Christ we might have peace and good cheer. He is forever and ever the Prince of Peace. And while violence is senseless and cruel and terrible, we can take comfort in the fact that He is in control, and that He knows all.
So find peace and cheer in Christ.
And let’s turn our hearts toward each other, and love, and healing, and hope.
