Something about August, and school starting, and the fact that fall is just around the corner has brought all sorts of goal and re-focusing posts to my Bloglovin’ feed, and I love it. I’ve always loved the feeling that a new school year brings — it’s just as good a the new year — a feeling of hope, and newness, and a fresh start.
This summer has been wonderful and fun and tiring, as summers generally are. We took a trip to Lake Tahoe, had a fun time at Girls Camp (Scout Camp for Kyle), my dad and Steven visited, plus we did a bunch more things around our town. More recently, I had my wisdom teeth taken out (be sure to check out my twitter account for hilarious tweets, ha), and my mom and sister came up to stay and help out with the kids and household while I was recovering. I have my triathlon coming up on Saturday (yikesabee!), my birthday is the weekend after that, then it’s Labor Day and finally…. Fall. Sweet fall, and time to get back into a routine.
I love routines I’m definitely not a Type-A personality by any means, but as I get older the more I like to have a routine, a plan, a to-do list, all of the above! It makes my day feel so much more productive and at ease when I know what I need to get done, when I need to do it, and where I need to go.
Because of all the other fantastic posts I’ve been reading, I’ve been thinking about my own goals and all the other things I want to re-focus on to end the last 4th of the year with a bang. To be honest, I had completely forgotten about my 26 at 26 goals, oops! I did a few of them, but not nearly as many as I wanted to accomplish. I’ll be making and posting a 30 by 30 list here sometime soon, and some of my 26 at 26 goals will transfer on over to that.
However, as far as shorter term goals go, I wanted to share with you:
Personal and Church:
+ Read my scriptures each day, and finish the Book of Mormon by the end of August.
+ Daily morning and evening personal prayer.
Family and Marriage:
+ Do something intentional for Kyle each day.
+ Spend more one-on-one time with both kids.
+ Take kids to the library each once a week or every other week.
Health & Exercise:
+ Continue to meal plan healthy meals for my family.
+ Drink 60 ounces of water a day.
+ Exercise at least 3x a week (bike, Piyo, run).
Around The House:
+ Finish decorating Eliza’s room.
+ Organize the downstairs playroom.
+ Paint and decorate our upstairs living room.
Blog:
+ Start participating again in online blog group to grow my blog presence and pageviews.
+ Continue working on scheduling out posts.
+ Overall, just continue making my blog the best it can be, working on my writing, content, etc.
Usborne Books & More:
+ Raise $250 (at least) for my Bring Your Light fundraiser.
+ Have 2 parties a week, selling at least $1000 per month.
+ Sign two recruits by the end of my incentive period (10/19/16).
+ Find my groove in social media posting, booking parties, etc.
