A couple of weeks ago, my dad and Steven came to town! We hadn’t seen them since last July, and so we were so glad they could come for a visit and meet Eliza. The last few times they’ve visited we’ve gone down to Utah, but this time they came up and stayed with us so they could see our new home. We mostly just spent time together doing the regular things we do (like grocery shopping…), but we did take a long day trip to Yellowstone. I think we logged about 9 hours in the car. But Steven had never been (he’s a Floridian, born and raised) and it’s been years since my dad has been there, so we had to go since we live so close! We stopped by Jenny Lake in the Grand Tetons on the way up and then stopped by West Thumb, the Grand Canyon, and Old Faithful before driving home — just enough to get in most of the highlights. It was a bit of a rushed trip, but we’re glad we could do it. We love us some Yellowstone, as you can probably tell from the many pictures below. (There are no pictures from Old Faithful because I was juggling an ice cream cone and an ice cream cup, and trying to eat my cone while feeding Abe from the cup before they both melted in the hot weather. It was a sight! Ha.)
On Saturday we went to check out the Museum of Clean here in Pocatello. We weren’t sure what to expect, but it was actually pretty cool. If you’re ever in the neighborhood, you should check it out! We also enjoyed a BBQ at our church that included bounce houses and sno-cones. Sunday we all got ready, and snapped a few family pictures before we went to church and my dad and Steven drove back down to Utah. We are so glad they were able to visit, and look forward to seeing them next year!
