First Day of Fall! First Day of Fall! (You know, like Nemo in Finding Nemo? Ha!) It’s officially here, and Mother Nature is helping southeastern Idaho celebrate by giving here a cool and rainy day. Ah, perfection. I mean, both my kids have colds, and I have terrible allergies, but hey! I’m not complaining because sweater weather. Today’s Blog-tember prompt is perfect for today, so let’s jump in.
Today’s Prompt: Fall Favorites
Cooler weather.
Since we were just talking about the weather, let’s list it first. I love me some cooler weather. I love to layer with cardigans and jackets. I love to wear scarves. I love to wear boots. I love walking outside and not feeling like I’m going to melt. Heck, I love walking around inside and not feeling like I’m going to melt. Everything about cooler weather just makes me happy. (Notice I said cooler. Not cold. I am not a fan of cold.)
Changing colors.
I grew up in the beautiful state of Utah, where we are surrounded by mountains. Nothing makes me happier than viewing the vibrant reds, oranges and yellows that appear on the mountainside, and all around, during the fall. Taking a drive is one of my favorite things to do during the fall, just to enjoy the beautiful colors and trees, and stand in awe of the beauty God has made for us.
Baking all the things.
I don’t necessarily like to cook, but I do love to bake. And fall is the perfect time of year to do that, especially with all the tastes of the season. Zucchini? Yes. Pumpkin? Double yes. Any other filling you can put into pie? Yes. Chocolate anything just because? Yes and yes. Baking makes me happy, and eating what I bake makes me even happier. (Plus with the cooler weather it doesn’t feel as hot as Hades when you have the oven on, so really, win-win.)
Really, this just touches on a few things that I love about fall, but it’s a good start, and I feel like they encompass all the things that fall is about and brings.
PS, yesterday I shared my fall fashion and beauty must-haves, so jump on over to check that out!
I hope you enjoyed learning about a few of my fall favorites. I really really really love this season, and I know most of you do, too! I’m taking a few days off of Blog-tember, but I’ll be back next Tuesday sharing something that moved me recently. See you then!
