To say I love this book would be a bit of an understatement. When I signed up for this book tour, I wasn’t sure what to expect, except that the book was geared towards children, talked about the family, and had bright comic book inspired graphics. But the minute I opened it up, I was sold.
The book teaches us about the family, and God’s plan. It puts the Gospel of Jesus Christ into very simple terms, and invites us all to become defenders of the family, which is something that is so needed right now. Oh, and bonus? The author, Benjamin Hyrum White, was one of Kyle’s seminary teachers, isn’t that fun?! I had no idea until I got the package in the mail, and Kyle said, “How’d you get that?” And I told him, and he said, “He was one of my seminary teachers!” It’s a small, small world.
I meant to grab a few pictures of Abe looking at the book, because he really likes it, but Kyle’s grandma died last week and we were busy getting things together to go down to the funeral so I wasn’t able to. Just know he really loves it, and we’ve read it multiple times. If you have young children and are looking for a good book to explain the Gospel to them in simple terms, you should definitely check Defenders of the Family out.
