We’ve lived in our house for over a year, and I’ve yet to share it with you via a virtual home tour. We’ve been making updates here and there, and we’ve got most of the rooms ready to actually share! Andddd of course I’m going to start with the main bathroom, because why not? Ha!
A little about our house, it’s an older ranch style home, with 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom upstairs, with 2 bedrooms and one bathroom downstairs in a finished basement.
As we only have one bathroom upstairs, it is of course used by Kyle and I, the kids, and any guests that come over. Since moving in we have up-graded the vanity area from a pedestal sink to an actual vanity, replaced the toilet paper holder, replaced the medicine cabinent, painted the cabinet above the toilet, painted the walls and trim, and replaced the towel rack. (I’ll post a before below.) And when I say we I should really say Kyle, since he does about 99% of all of our home projects. Bless him.
Here’s what you see as you look in. It’s a pretty normal bathroom. We might refinish the tub one day to make it white, and we’d like to replace the shower area as well, but those are things that cost a bit more money and aren’t really necessary right now, so they can wait. I love our vanity! So much better than the sink we had before (see below). I love our wall color in here, too. I’m a pretty neutral gal, but I wanted something a little brighter in here, since it’s such a small space. I love how it turned out.
Here’s the other side of the room. The only thing I’m planning on adding is a framed print above the towel rack. I had my eye on one, but the shop closed down before I could buy it, so I’m still looking for something else. And I might add a clock somewhere, too, since I like to know the time and it would be nice to not have to check my phone while I’m in the middle of doing my hair and makeup.
This closest is one of my favorite parts of probably our whole house. So much storage! I love me some organization, so this is perfect. As you can see, the top shelf houses cleaning supplies, the next shelf holds my stock of toiletry and bath items, the next shelf holds my makeup (small drawers) and samples (large drawers), and the last shelf is where we keep our towels and washcloths, and my travel items. Below on the floor is toilet paper, and a laundry basket. And you can see on the side of the wall is my jewelry holder.
And as promised, a before view. Yikes! It looks much better now!
So there you go! There’s our main bath. Nothing too crazy, but we definitely love it a lot more now that we’ve updated it!
