One last car seat picture!

Last Saturday, the 5th, Eliza turned ONE YEAR OLD. Can you believe it? My sweet, squishy newborn is practically a toddler. The last year has been insane, in the best way. Transitioning from one to two kids wasn’t too hard for me, but transitioning to no sleep for a year, along with a baby who was much grumpier than her older brother had eveer been? That was trickier. I am so grateful we have Eliza. Sometimes I try to envision life without her, and I just can’t! While our family is not complete yet, it is complete for now – she completed this current stage in our family. Having kids 19 months apart is not for everyone, I know, but I can’t imagine having waited even one month longer for this sweet little soul to come to us.

Anyway, enough sappiness. You’ll get more of that when I post another post about my thoughts and feelings of having Eliza turn one. This post is just supposed to be info and stats 🙂 So on we go!

Eliza

Likes: Being upside down and being tickled, being held, climbing on everything, eating, and making messes (particularly by getting into the garbage can….).

Dislikes: Being told to “be soft”, she starts bawling if you do (which we do often because she’s got quite a slap to her), and being hungry.

Nicknames: Ellie and all it’s variations (Ellie-Bellie, Ellie-Bee, Elsabells, etc), Liza or Liza Lynn, and occasionally Ella, Elle, and Elsa, and I also call her Mami.

Eliza

Sleep Habits: Well, she’s still waking up, but has cut it down to 1 or 2 times a night in the last month, so that’s an improvement! We’re hoping that in the next month or two she’ll start consistently sleeping through the night!

Eating Habits: This girl loves her food! We’re done with formula now, thank goodness, and she’s drinking whole milk and water. She basically also just eats whatever we eats and wants it all.the.time. She’ll give you quite a look if you’re eating and she’s not.

Other Facts and Milestones: Has 6 teeth, two on the top and four on the bottom, with two more top ones poking through. Can say “Mama” and “Dada” and “ta-da” and “uh-oh” as well as mimics when we say “amen” after we pray. She can stand up by herself in the middle of the room and can stay on her feet up to 30-60 seconds, probably. We are assuming walking is not too far off. She is also a climber — she will try to climb on anything and everything. She and Abe play great together (most of the time, of course) which is darling to watch. Oh, and one more funny little thing, if she’s on the floor and you walk by, she’ll stick her arms straight in the air as if to say, “hold me now!”. It’s so cute and hard to say no to. Her hair is getting longer, and lighter and lighter, but her eyes are still pretty brown (and big! we’re always getting comments on her eyes).

We love our little Liza Gal. She is happy and smiley (except for when she wants food) and just all around a delight.
