Does anyone else struggle with doing the dishes? No? Just me? Because I mean really, how do they pile up so fast?!! It drives me nuts. Plus trying to do the dishes with two toddlers at your feet is beyond frustrating. Still, there is nothing better than a clean sink, clean dishes, and a clean kitchen, so done they must get! If not just for having clean dishes, but for your sanity.
So are there ways to make doing the dishes more enjoyable? Absolutely! And today I’m sharing with you one of my secret weapons when it comes to doing the dishes. Are you ready? I hope so! But first, a quick background: All during college (and beyond) I used to use sponges when I did the dishes but even as I used them, I knew I would probably like something else more. I finally switched over to using dish cloths, and I’m a lot happier with that choice (although sponges are great for cleaning, too!). I feel like they are more sanitary, but they can also be used in a variety of ways, which I am all about! I also (and I know this is going to sound so weird) feel like I have more control over a cloth than a sponge, which is something I need when I clean.
So yes, my secret weapon, as it were, is a dish cloth. But not all dish cloths are created equal. But before I tell you my favorite dish cloth, I want to know, do you use a sponge or a dish cloth? Let me know and vote here and you could win a $20,000 kitchen makeover. Yep, better believe it!
And now, on to my favorite dish cloth! I’ve been using the Scotch-Brite® Scrubbing Dish Cloths for a few months now, and I really love them! They are truly so versatile and one of my favorite things. Read on to see just a few ways I use them, and then run to the store and pick some up for yourself 🙂
Washing Dishes
I mean, duh. They are called dish cloths, after all. When I wash dishes using a Scrubbing Dish Cloth, I fold them in half, or fourths, so I have that control and power behind my scrubbing action. Paired with my favorite dish soap, it gets the job done well, and fast! They’re sturdy, reusable and machine washable, so they’ll last you a while, which I love!
Wiping Counters
One reason I like having a stack of Scrubbing Dish Cloths on hand is because they’re so great for wiping down my counters and table (and chairs!). I know this is a total #firstworldproblem, but sometimes I hate having to differentiate between products for washing dishes or wiping counters or wiping down the sink. What if they’re all dirty? What if I accidentally pick the wrong one? With the Scrubbing Dish Cloths I can just have a stack of one kind of cloth, and use them for everything.
Scrubbing Pans
I know this technically goes under “washing dishes” but I feel it merits it’s on point. Another reason I love the Scrubbing Dish Cloths is because they feature scrubbing dots on one side of the cloth, that really allow you to take on tough messes, and won’t scratch any surface! You know longer have to use your nails, you’ve got the dots!
So there you have it, my secret weapon when it comes to washing dishes and making it more enjoyable. The Scotch-Brite Dish Cloths are really the dish cloth, reinvented. There are many more ways you can use a dish cloth, and I’d love to hear how you (would) use them! Do you want to try out the Scotch-Brite Scrubbing Dish Cloths for yourself? You can grab a coupon here and then head to your local Kroger or Kroger banner store (I shop at the Fred Meyer’s right by my house!) and pick some up. Then come back and let me know what you think, and if they’ve changed your life like they’ve changed mine 😉
