GOOD
So much good happened this month! We celebrated the 4th of July with me taking Abe and Eliza to a nearby town’s candy parade where we met up with our besties, and then we barbecued and did fireworks as a family the rest of the day. The kids were at such a fun age this year — things just keep getting better and better (and easier, ha!) the older they get.
The day after the 4th I was blessed to be able to go to Girls Camp. I’ll probably write up a whole post on it, but suffice it to say it was amazing.
During the middle of the month Kyle left for Scout Camp for a week, and my mom and sister came up that same week to help me out. Kyle returned home on Saturday, and my dad and Steven arrived for a visit that same day, and stayed for another 5 days. It’s so fun to see family and spend time with them. We only see my dad and Steven once a year at best, so we soaked up all the time we could with them!
Kyle took his clinical licensure test on this past Saturday and PASSED (I knew he would)! This means he can send in his paperwork to the licensing board, and once they meet he will officially move from an LCP (licensed professional counselor) to an LCPC (licensed clinical professional counselor), the highest license you can get with a masters degree. I am SO proud of him, and how hard he works. He’s a stellar guy, that one.
Oh! And do y’all remember Danae, who lived with us last year? She was able to stop in for a visit and it was so good to see her! Love her so much. (Please tell me how much you love Eliza’s face!! Hah!)
Lastly, Jonah has started sleeping in longer stretches (4-6 hours) and I am so happy and am crossing every appendage I have that this keeps up and he sleeps like his brother, rather than his sister.
BAD
I really can’t think of anything bad. July was a bit chaotic and busy, but nothing terrible happened.
ON MY BRAIN
I’m going to start potty training Eliza in August. Part of me wants to wait until we’re back into a routine and Jonah is older, but really I should probably just go for it while everything’s still crazy anyway and he’s not mobile yet, right? I think (hope) she’ll be a lot easier than Abe. She’s gone pee in the toilet a few times already, and loves the idea so I’m crossing my fingers that everything will go ok. I’ll be basically potty training my 4 1/2 year old again, too, so send lots of Diet Coke and well-wishes, please.
I worked out for the first time this year today and I’m feeling good! I’m excited to get back into a routine and eat healthier and work out and all that jazz, as we come out of the newborn haze.
I’m starting to plan out our fall. Abe starts preschool in a month and it blows my mind! I am so excited! For him, and for me 😉 I’m also just excited for fall and back to school in general, because fall is my favorite season and I can’t wait to be able to layer clothes again, and to be back into a semi-predictable routine. Hoorah!
