Y’all, I was on fire this month. I read 7 (!!) books! Oh man. I love reading so much. I love books. I love marking them off my to-read list onto my read list. I just….. love them. Since I read so many I wanted to do a quick review of each of them in one blog post instead of doing separate posts about each one.
Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant by Anne Tyler (part of my Winter Book Challenge)3 stars. This book was fascinating, but also dull. I found the psychological and developmental aspects interesting — such as how siblings can grow up in the exact same environment, but view and remember experiences differently, and turn out so differently as well — but the over all story wasn’t too interesting.
Breakfast Served Anytime by Sarah Combs (part of my Winter Book Challenge)3 stars. (Although a very high 3 stars.) I would definitely recommend this book to those who are looking for a light, fun YA read. This book captured so well how the events of one summer have the ability to change your life for good, how friends can become your family, and the magic of falling in (almost) love for the first time.
Wonder by RJ Palicio (for January’s The Life of Bon book club)5 stars. I adored this book. It was so sweet and cute and so good. I loved the POV changes, I loved the ending, I loved the characters. I just loved it.

I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith (for Kelly’s Kinda Crazy book club)2 stars. Eh, this book didn’t do it for me. It was dull and I disliked most of the characters. I can see why others would like it and why it’s considered a classic, but it wasn’t for me.
Madam Bovary by Gustave Flaubert (part of my Winter Book Challenge and my ORYS January book)2 stars. This is a classic, and I can see why, but oh, the writing style…. I couldn’t handle it.
One More Thing by BJ Novak (part of my Winter Book Challenge)2 stars. I’ve heard great things about this book, and while I enjoyed some of the stories (it’s a collection of them) the authors humor just isn’t really my sense of humor. Have you read any of these books? What did you think of them?
